Butylated HydroxyToluene - BHT Manufacturers & Suppliers in India
Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), also known as dibutylhydroxytoluene, is a lipophilic organic compound, chemically a derivative of phenol, that is useful for its antioxidant properties. BHT – butylated hydroxytoluene (cas no 128-37-0) is widely used to prevent free radical-mediated oxidation in fluids (e.g. fuels, oils). BHT is used in wide variety of applications:
Benefits of Butylated HydroxyToluene - BHT
It is normally used in combination with citric acid in fats and oils, and with phosphate for meat systems. It is also used to protect rubber, plastics, and other industrial products. BHT combines low costs with heat stability, good antioxidant activity, and high fat solubility, and thus not surprisingly has been the most widely used antioxidant in food.

Application/Usage of Butylated HydroxyToluene - BHT
The antioxidant activity of BHT (Food Grade) can be transferred to baked products if it is used as an antioxidant in the shortenings used in their manufacture. BHT (Food Grade) is a particularly good antioxidant for stabilizing meat, fish and bone meals. BHT (Food Grade) may be used, either alone or in combination with BHA, to stabilize edible tallows and fats, fish and fish liver oils, vitamins and essential oils.
